Whenever I travel to a new country, I want to experience as much of their culture as I can. Sometimes it can be hard, if I only have a few days of a week for this, as usually I need to attend to business as well. I have learned that meals and eating can be a very big, social part of the day in many places. It was with this in mind that I went to a buffet in Singapore. I decided to skip the one in the hotel and instead searched out one that would be more for the locals. I was lucky and found one a bit out of the way but very charming. Instead of having Italian and Mexican sections like most buffets in the U.S. they had them arranged according to the main ingredient. There was a whole row of seafood and then one with poultry followed by a lamb or mutton area. It was quite good and there was entertainment too. I got to spend the evening soaking in the culture and never left the restaurant.
